Another thing to consider is that the most commonly-shared content on social media is an image. So, always include an image with your posts. This will dramatically increase your chances that one of your followers will share the post with their network. While building up a large network of followers is great, ultimately what you want is to have your followers—no matter how many you have—share what you're posting with their network, and those people will share your post with their followers, and so on.
And I'm sorry, but I have to say it — don't spam your friends! It may be tempting to do because the more sponsored stuff you share, the more you can earn. But spamming your friends will backfire on you because they'll get wise to what you're doing, become annoyed, and either block or unfriend you. A study by Hayat and Samuel-Azran conducted during the 2016 U.S. presidential election observed an “echo chamber” effect of selective exposure among 27,811 Twitter users following the content of cable news shows. [124] The Twitter users observed in the study were found to have little interaction with users and content whose beliefs were different from their own, possibly heightening polarization effects. Viraliti is a “paid to pin” site. You can create an account and look for things you can pin to your various boards on Pinterest. If anyone clicks through to the advertiser's website from any of your pins, you'll earn a certain amount per click. I have been signed up with Viraliti for several months now but haven't used it enough to get a payment. Currently they pay with Paypal and you need $30 to get paid. Payments are processed in the 1st and 16th of every month. It looks like they are currently in private beta, but you can request to be invited.
The picture here is a bit different if we look at the brand names. WhatsApp and Messenger are in a close race for the top spot. But both of these most popular social media apps are owned by Facebook so the competition may not be as fierce as between completely separate companies. Then there’s a lot of Asian apps and then on the sixth spot is Instagram, again owned by Facebook.

Google+ isn’t so different from Facebook and Twitter in that it allows you to get a message out to a lot of people. The one nice thing about it, though, is that you can separate people into different “circles,” so you can really then target different people of different demographics with your messages and test which marketing messages worked best with who. It’s a great tool to use to really test the potential success of a social media marketing scheme.

With so many social networks out there I wonder if adding profiles to all of them would increase site traffic. We have a website that helps network marketers to increase downline growth at mlmrc.com and we’re constantly trying to figure out new ways to build traffic. My guess though is that these large social networks already get most of the social noise. So would the smaller one’s even be worth taking the time to create profiles on or not? Every time you leave your account active on your computer those little Facebook linkis that are now at the bottom of most of the pages you go to report your browsing history back to Facebook. Who the hell do they think they are? I have never created a Facebook account yet through accounts of Friends I see my full name identified. Yes, I agree whole heatedly we need an alternative other then Facebook.

Thanks Paula for commenting. I sometimes feel the same about Facebook, although I still think that it’s a great tool to have, especially in my area of work ( affiliate marketing ). I get your point that there is no real alternative to Facebook, but what the other networks don’t want to do is become a Facebook. They want to offer something different which is how they can make in-roads on the Facebook monster.
